Education
1.0 Introduction
Today in the healthcare market we are constantly bombarded with federal updates that include new rules and changes to existing rules that providers must understand and implement. Therefore to insure compliance and adequate patient care the staff in all areas of today's healthcare facilities must be continually educated. MedCompliance believes in education and focuses the majority of their staff time to healthcare education programs through webinars and on-site training sessions and conferences.
2.0 Goals and Objectives
Our Education Goal:
Identify where education programs are needed in the hospital and implement a plan to provide the needed sessions. Then provide the program to all related hospital staff and insure through testing the educational sessions were performed successfully.
Our education projects will accomplish the following objectives:
- Provide only educational sessions that will benefit the hospital staff
- Obtain hospital approval on subject matter by citing rational for sessions
- Design the educational materials with test as needed and obtain hospital approval of materials
- Keep the materials in a simple to understand format and provide as many scenarios as possible to illustrate the subject matter as related to hospital staff work assignments
- Schedule webinars or classroom sessions so all may attend and schedule additional sessions as needed
- Insure all required staff attends sessions, pass written and oral test
- Provide re-occurring educational sessions for staff that missed initial session or failed the written and oral test
- After education session is completed review each attendee sample of their patient charts and charges to insure complete understanding of material as it applies to reality of patient documentation and charging.
- This review will reflect good vs. weak documenters
- If documentation is not up to standards required by the hospital then the staff member must repeat the process until standard is reached.
